I was blog lurking awhile back...and there was a post done promoting Creating Keepsakes scrapbook magazine. Anyway...the front cover if you notice it is a CTMH stamp set called "Springtime" and there is also another layout in the book made with the "Twitterpated" paper....ANYWAY in this magazine there was a tutorial on these awesome looking paper roses! SO of course I had to

THEY are SO FUN to make!!!

and instead of finishing up stuff for my play group tomorrow night I am blogging about these ROSES!!!

are they not awesome!!!! I made my kids journals for Easter and these belong to my girls...my oldest has been practicing making these with regular 'ole type paper, she is 8!!!. SEEE easy peasy! Here are the rest of the Journals I made...LOVE to make these things.

Dallin's made with "Good times" paper (retired-I think)

Jentries, made with Key To my Heart paper (special no longer available)...sorry...but you can use anything you already have on hand! :)

I love these books and if you are trying to figure out which book to buy...my suggestion would be...put the name of each book on different slips of paper and put them in a hat....the one you draw is the one you buy!! More covered Journals.....My oldest daughter turned 8 this last year and ALL of her friends are turning 8 as well...it is very possible that by the time this school year ends many little 2nd grade girls in our area will have a home made Journal! lol...I went to a retreat about 5ish years ago in Salina and learned about these fun, fast gifts and I make them A TON!!! they are super in-expensive, but by the time you are finished they look like a million bucks...okay...maybe not that much...but better than a black memo book...right! I have personalized each book with a first initial...which is fun! The paper used for these 2 books happens to be one of my fav's for the girlies BUT it is retired :(so sad!! I would LOVE a few more packets of it!!! Moving on....

Now, about this retreat (Salina, My good friend and fellow scrap-junky Tammy has had the ONLY cool scrap store in our area since I have lived here and she sold it!!! :( ... I went into her store before I had my oldest child who is now 10 and have followed her thru a few other locations and have purchased a ticket to each one of her CK retreats...this coming Saturday will be her 9th (I think..8th or 9th, they tend to blend together! :) and her LAST retreat :( oh, what will we do come March 2011!!!) I didn't have a ticket for this years retreat because I thought I would just wait and go next year instead...but upon finding out that she was closing the doors to Country Keepsakes, I had to get my hand on a ticket or crash the party!!! I found a ticket...whew! thanks Kolleen!!!

I remember the very first retreat was hosted at the High School in Salina, I went by myself with NOTHING in hand but my purse. I was TOTALLY overwhelmed by these ladies and their rolling suitcases of scrap stuff!!! I was way out of the loop! lol...I am now one of those suitcase toting scrap crazy women and LOVE IT!!! I went all by my lonesome too...since then, my SIL has been on her staff, I have met and kept COUNTLESS friends!!! And learned the sky is the limit when it comes to playing with paper! I have enjoyed each and every moment!!! Each year just got better and better! Tam has come full circle...ending this awesome run back at the High School. The last few years I have attended the retreat with a group of super awesome friends (pretty much the 3rd wheel with my sil family! haha...) I go with her (sil Kayla) and her cousins, aunt, mom...ect.... and I love it (and them!) and am so glad they let me tag along with them...PLUS they are in my play group!!!(most of them anyway)

I am soo excited to go Saturday but sad this is it. Tam is however, super excited to be moving on to new adventures, finish raising the 2 kids she still has at home while enjoying being a grandma and being with her family. So I wish her much luck in her future and hope she comes and plays with us often so we can get our fill of her awesome smile and amazing creativity!!! Love Ya Tam!!! (SO cannot wait until Saturday!!!!) Whoot Whoot! (i know weird...but I really am whooting!)

Another Card...

A few weeks ago Jeanette Lynton posted this card on her blog with her Color Me Monday Post... (check out her blog!!!) Well, anyway I LOVED this card...So I wanted to re-create it at home and I just SO happened to have the SUPER cute stamp set she used.... "A Love" found on page 81 in the NEW Spring Catalog (leave me a comment if you would like YOUR own CTMH Idea Catalog). Anyway...the SUPER fun butterfly is made out of 2 stamped hearts and put together with the super fun Heartfelt Die Cuts (Wonder, pg 94). The other cool thing is this DARLING stamp set is one of the new "A" sized sets that are only $7.95!!! TOTALLY COOL! This is what I came up with using the the Veranda Level II paper packet (pg 10).

Play Group Page and U ROCK WSOTG....

This is the fun layout we did for play group last night...the super fun thing about this page (other than using the Jingle Kit..which I LOVE) were those special Blush B&T duos :) Using the technique featured on this months CTMH TV episode called "Embossed Resist". I used the My Acrilyx Stamp Set "Spot On", CTMH Clear Embossing Powder, and Blush Ink (some used the Juniper/Creme Brulee depending on the paper they received in their kit). Inking the area with the Rubber Brayer (pg 97). It took some time to emboss that much space...BUT LOVE the results! Other CTMH Stamp Sets used are "Chocolate Alphabet Large, Friendship Alphabet small, Hodge Podge Alphabet, and this Months Stamp of the Month "Piece of Cake" (so cute) Which we also embossed using the CTMH Black Embossing Powder, Cranberry Ribbon, White daisy Ribbon, and those cute little Tulip Brads you see in the corners...well they are my 'fake' but look real brads...I knew I wouldn't have enough brads for 14 kits...so they are hole punches (yup!) then coated in a nice round dollop of liquid glass for the bump and the shine....SOOO cool! :) I found that little trick in an old Creating Keepsakes Magazine from a few years ago! lol! The layout was inspired by Helen Onulak's darling layout using the Jingle Creative Basic's paper...oh and if you do check out her link also check out her YouTube Video on why CTMH Clear Acrylix Stamps are "Clearly The BEST!" ..cute! cute!

Anyway...after checking out Helen's layout...I went immediately to my Imagines Book page 96 and WALA!!! There is the cutting guide :) I love these Idea Books...(Imagine, Cherish and Reflections...LOVE them ALL! and use them TONS!!) Had so much fun making this layout..I can't wait to make the 2nd page and put "the SWEETEST" pictures on them...If you wanna come play..or just make a layout...leave me a comment!

U ROCK Work Shop On The Go

Now on to the U Rock WSOTG Layout...I love this paper (I know know...I ALWAYS love the paper!) but I really loved the bright busy-ness of it...however...it was a challenge for me to put it together :p This is what I came up with. I wasn't a total fan of the layout provided in the Work Shop Guide and I am HORRIBLE at following exact instructions...I always change something...lol..(and I love it when the ladies at play group do too...;) So I came up with this....it is part of the Pattern provided in the guide and flipped...then I added the 'Rockin' New Year (because I have fun rockin' new year pic's of my kiddos). I love the music notes :)

Using the Stamp set in the kit..."Just Be You". I once again used the Embossed Resist technique...which I will probably do A LOT from now on!!! Better stock up on clear embossing powder! I stamped the "Rockin' New Year" with the Poster Board Alphabet in Outdoor Denim Ink, then using the Just Be You Stamp set in a random order stamped the images to be Embossed with clear embossing powder...then after the whole EMBOSSING thing...inked the whole title with Goldrush Ink using my beloved sponge. LOVED how it turned out...can't wait to add my photos :)

Sneak Peak for Next Month...Topstitch

I love the new TOPSTITCH paper! I love the colors...I love the stamp set...LOVE IT!!!

The 1st was TOTALLY inspired by Tresa Black (LOVE her stuff!!!) This month CTMH ran a contest on YouTube about why My Acrylix Stamps are the BEST :) this is Tresa's Video (she cracks ME up!!) AND here is also a more in-depth tutorial on how to make HER card. I also used part of the instructions from the Topstitch WSOTG Card making project and the "Love is in the Air"stamp set.

The 2nd card was inspired by one that is in the New Spring Idea book on page 15...I wanted to MAKE that flower!!! LOVE IT!!

The 3rdone was inspired by the 2007 Winter Idea Book (if you have it the page is 54) It was part of the My Originals Holiday Wishes Card kit...I couldn't find this pattern anywhere (I know it has to be in the Originals Card Card Confidence Program...but I couldn't find it...) any WHO...it 'inspired' me and when it comes to cards I need LOTS of inspiration :) Love how it turned out! The stamp set I used for this stamp is the "Love is in the Air" featured in the Topstitch WSOTG ...SO stinkin' CUTE!!! I also used the March Stamp of the Month "A Little Everything" (FREE when you spend $100.00) and the "Dainty Thoughts" (pg 73).
I LOVED creating these cards and using this stamp set!!! So much fun...I will have one more card ready for you to make if you are wanting to participate....We will be playing on March 3rd (leave me a comment if you want to play and I will give you more details then) And on March 10th we will be doing a Layout with the same paper. (I will post those as soon as they are done! hope fully SOON!)

1st Sealing Announcement....

This is MY very first attempt at digital stuff! I am SOOO not Digital...I love 3D paper work! But a good friend and former student of my husband is getting sealed to her honey next month and asked if I would design her announcement...Yes at first I felt GREAT stress, but as I played and figured out a few things I LOVED IT!!! lol...I will always be a 3D scrapper! I just love to stamp and cut :) But I love being able to play like I did tonight..I have had this program for YEARS called Scrapbook Factory Deluxe, I use it for lots of different things but haven't ever used it as a digital program to actually scrapbook..just to play and mess around. This was pretty fun! Looking forward to playing with Studio J!!! Soon to be released by CTMH!!! :) Congrats to Shali and Jeff!

Birthday Cards

These are the birthday cards kits we will be making for Enrichment Night in one of our local Wards. I LOVE the New Candlelight stamp set (page 52 of the NEW Spring Idea Book) and the March STAMP of the MONTH A Little Everything. I will be posting more birthday cards featuring the February STAMP of the Month A Piece of Cake soon. Gingerbread Houses and Gum Drops....Magic of Christmas...

While cutting out some Acorns from the Many Thanks stamp set (CTMH) the other night...I thought to myself..."hum, these totally look like a Gum Drop!!" SOOO with that in my brain and the itch to make a Gingerbread house with the "Around the Block" Stamp of the Month. (this month!)..I was sooo sucked in to CREATE this page!!!! I love my gum drops!!!! I embossed them with clear embossing powder mixed with just a bit of prisma glitter (CTMH). I even used the ITTY BITTY acorn stamp to make my tiny gum drops for the windows of my gingerbread house and the the bases of my "candy cane" corners!!! I used a regular ole hole punch and punched out circles for the roof, random triangles for the ends of my candy windows....Cute little Trees from the "DEC Word Puzzle" (soon to be retired get yours NOW!!!) I fun flocked, glittered and glued my way into a frenzy of Christmas Magic!!! We make gingerbread houses every year and I am SO looking forward to filling up these pages with Magical FUN!!! I have MANY Thanks for the WONDERFUL stamp set made for the fall season only to be used as my walk of candy on this SUPER FUN PAGE!! I TOTALLY love the JINGLE paper packet!!!!

Okay...I was not the BIGGEST fan of Twilight...the book or the movie....and while away from the movie I believe Robert Pattinson(Edward) to be nice looking...BUT seriously blog lurkers out there....Taylor Lautner (Jacob) WOW...Not only did he do a great job at being Bella's best friend but he is way less weird!!! And gotta LOVE that smile...and I am not even embarrassed about it..even if I am totally way old and married to my own "jacob" (hehe) I LOVED NEW MOON!!! Can't wait for the next one...I fought soooo hard to stay away! Just to get sucked in by the second BOOK! LOL!

A few fun Halloween projects....

Holy Halloween Batman!

I always have a good time with the kiddo's on Halloween. We trick or treat around our AWESOME little neighborhood and the last two years we have a little Halloween Party at our house with the neighborhood kids we trick or treat with. Last year I made the little scare crow costume - valerie wore it this year, and a zorro costume which sadly stayed in the box...Dallin chose to be the mighty hunter! Jentrie was an Angel...she wore her Baptism Dress (i know scary!)...this year I made Peyton's batman costume...I just can not make myself pay all that $ for costumes....I bought black sweat pants at walmart ($4.00) and he had a black turtleneck shirt (yay) and it was $5.00 for the material for the cape (double sided-double the fun!, the iron on pellon, and the fun foam for the mask....lol...$9.00 A costume that he will WEAR OUT!!! (he stayed home from church today with dad and put his costume back on after his bath...and went to bed with it still on...hum...I wonder if I will be able to wash it tomorrow! lol! I had fun making it!

I also played with MORE fondant! I had so much fun making this Pumpkin Candy Bucket Cake!!!! I saw the idea in a woman's day magazine. The cake is TWO bunt cakes bottoms together (with chocolate cream cheese frosting as a filling..yum) I also cut out the face with fondant. Then covered the pumpkin with orange colored sugar, a pipe cleaner for the handle, and CANDY...the outer candies have tooth picks in them so the inner candy would stay, same with the treats along the bottom...the kids loved it and I was so happy I made it...instead of cutting out the idea and putting in my "someday I am going to do this...." file! lo! Next year I want to do a Witch Calderon...only were the candy is do bugs, spiders, worms..eyeballs and in the very middle an empty veggie can (hidden) for some dry ice! cool huh! already can't wait! :) Lots of fun pictures to SCRAP!!! Happy Halloween!

Here is a layout I accomplished last week for club.....( i think i am getting my weeks confused! LOL!) anyway, our CTMH play group was last THURSDAY (the 22nd) and this is one of the pages I had finished to show for Novembers play group. I love the layout, I love the colors, I love the leaves!!! I love it! Now...This layout idea was found on Karen's blog here. Karen did this layout with the Grace paper...which I loved. But to make it my own...this is what I came up with! My Business of last week....

She's 8!!! FINALLY :)

I took the blogging break due to my Daughter Jentrie's Birthday/Baptism Week.....which turned out fabulous! :) Here are a few pictures of WHAT I was up to the week of the 14th! I managed to make her dress and her cake. I usually always make my kids a birthday cake...but this was the VERY first time using rolled fondant....SO FUN! loved it!!!! and it was YUMMY! Thanks to my friend Hope for the fabulous recipe! and hints! It was also my FIRST time in making a dress that had a LINING in it! I usually do easy things like skirts...no zipper, no buttons...this time, however....we had to do a lining and a ZIPPER! sheesh...but it worked and she looks BEAUTIFUL!!! (if I don't say so myself!!) In honor of FINALLY turning 8, Jen was able to FINALLY get her ears pierced...(that was the deal with dad) thanks Camille for sharing the moment with us!!!

It was a great week (busy) and a wonderful day! My little girl was soo excited and happy! The spirit in the room was fabulous! It was fun to share her excitement with our family and friends who were able to join us that day! :) Thanks everyone!

Servin Up a DARLING Birthday Party IDEA!!!!

In my last post I talked about the Birthday GIFT idea...in this post it is the PARTY favor!!! SUCH a cute idea...and my daughter LOVED it! She went to a COOKING party! How cute is that! The cute mom made each one of the girls a darling apron made out of a hankie (i need to get a picture of it) and then the girls each made a cook book out of paper bags! HOW CUTE are THEY!

Each girl received paper and accessories to decorate their own cookbook along with 6 recipes to put in it.

THEN extra paper to put in side the openings! TOO CUTE! Jen had a blast and is CHOPPING at the BIT to make something :)

The one little funny...When it comes to MY pages I really, really REALLY don't like glue sticks...this is NOT a secret...if you have EVER scrapped with me, you will know I think they are evil! lol!....well, my friend (the mom of this clever party) had to tell me about Jentrie's comment about the glue sticks.... "My mom would really hate these glue sticks....they are crap!" (apparently they weren't sticking the glitter paper) LOL....My friend laughed and said "you are right they aren't very good..." sheesh! lol! I have since had a talk about keep certian opinions to ourselves! lol!.... ANYWAY...Love this idea! What a fun idea for mom's and daughters, grandma's and granddaughters...oh the possibilities! :)

Birthday Gift Idea's......

My 8 year old had TWO birthday parties last saturday....sheesh...TWO!!! I am a SAHM and my husband is a High School Teacher...we get paid ONCE a month and it was a BUSY month...nearing the END of the month, so what is left of my 'budget $' I really didn't want to spend on friend parties (over all it was the 4th one in that week!!!!) SO, I have a TON of memo notebooks on hand and found MONTHS ago a cute little gift idea for the mini clip board. They took me aprox. 1 hour per set to make...SO much FUN! The covered notebooks quickly became a darling journal (the first one was with same paper...just done differently...but I was late so I didn't get a picture of it...) The idea for the Journal came from a scrap retreat I attended about 5ish years ago (I think...Tammy can you remember when we did these? Anyone?) Anyway...just measure the parts you want covered, cut out your paper (back is covered but not the inside) then decorate as desired....the "K" is the inital of the friend who recieved this gift. I use modge podge to glue everything down and my fun little sanding block (ctmh) to clean up the edges before inking. As for the cute little clip board (I do NOT remember where I found this idea. I have seen it many times over the last year of my blog lurking. Because I don't remember where I found the Idea i just want to make it clear...it isn't MINE!) By using a 4x4 square of chip board, modge podge and paper WHALA...you have a fun little gift! For the clip I meausured it, cut my peice of paper (i believe it is 1" x 2 1/2", but don't take my word for it...take a piece of ribbon and measure it then cut your paper) I then modge podged the ribbon to the clip and tied a piece of ribbon around the top (lifting one clip so it stays up...). The clip board will hold half of a regular stack of sticky notes, of which I stamped a little design on random pages and left a Birthday message...(beats a card...ran out of time! lol!). On this set I used the "Out West" stamp set (CTMH). All items are CTMH product (except for the MODGE PODGE! lol!)

I had sooo many scraps leftover, I really debated... do I do a scrapbook page or should I see how for I could stretch my scraps! :) I know I am goof! oh well....SO with a few more sheets of Colonial White Cardstock I made the Card Holders and a cute little flip flap album....SO fun!....on the Flip Flap Album, I used a whole package of flip flaps and made a little pocket on the opening page for tags and notes...I will post a finished product (when I get that done!) lol! Had so much fun creating with this paper!

I didn't lose someone I love, I didn't know anyone who did....
But I will not ever forget the way I felt that day......where I
was, what I was doing.... I was 8 months pregnant with
my 2nd child....My then 1 1/2 year old had, had a rough night
and so I had ended up in bed with him...Rhett came screaming into the family room, turning on the T.V. adamant that we we under attack...and right he was! Like many Americans, I was GLUED to my TV for days in hopes they would find survivors....there was so much sadness...so many questions....so many tears for people I didn't know but ached for....for a minute we as Americans were united....that now I feel has been lost :( The war on Terror is a noble cause...I believe in it...I hate it...but I believe in it. Many of our young men and women joined the United Forces to fight the big fight...my brother being one of them. He is currently home and has been for 18 months...I am so proud of him and the sacrifices he has made to serve. I do however, have 1 cousin serving in Afghanistan, and another on his way as an Independent Worker (organizes city councils and stuff!) So much has happened the last 8 years...life goes on....but I will not ever forget that day! May God be with those of you who were there and felt ever brick fall. Hang your flag America in Honor of those from 9-11-01 "Attack on America"......

Tinkerin' WSOTG Kit to order this month and put together next month...Such fun bright paper! I love the "gears"!

The first layout is out of the Summer Idea Catalog right on the 'Tinkerin' page! So fast and easy to put together!

2nd layout idea came from Inspired Blueprints which is a blog that posts layout ideas...(stole from Karen's Blog...which I LOVE! Thanks Karen!)

I thought it worked up really well and SUPER fast! This is sketch #26. I found this darling poem about "laughing" from Inspirational Short Stories, under positive Laughter Quotes. I am a collector of quotes and poems and things... and this page reminded me of fun, which then leads to smiling...which leads to laughing and wallah! :) The poem goes like this:

"A smile starts on the lips,
A grin spreads to the eyes,
A chuckle comes from the belly,
But a good laugh bursts forth from the soul
overflows, and bubbles all around"

When I get my pictures on this layout, on the first page, I am going to use chip board letters that say "laugh"...but I want my pictures to be underneath...and sooooo......

Layout 3, kindof came from CTMH only I changed it up a bit....added "Summer" using the Essential Alphabet and "fun" using the new (well..in the summer catalog new) Field Trip Alphabet.

It is ALL mine! SOOOO Excited! I even bit the bullet and bought the second lens...right now Best Buy is having a special (yesterday they were anyway!) 18 months INTEREST FREE!!!! YES! And they came really close to beating Costco's $! So, I am happy! Rhett got a new suit from Mr. Mac's and for those of you who don't know my hubby, he LOVES nice suits and every time he graduates with another degree he gets a new one and he just finished his Admin Endorsement (we all call it the 2nd Masters!) NOW I just need to take a class on how everything works! loL! LOVE IT!!!! :) and I have a year and a half to pay it off! :)

I REALLY want to scrap today...yesterdays events (my Valeries 6th Bday party) really has put me in the mood...i seriously dreamt a layout....loL! Look at these super cute pictures! And my printer is not working so good right now...I guess I am going to have to break down and send them to walmart (which I only do if i am in a really big hurry! I usually do winkflash.com which right now is having a SALE...4 cents for 4x6 pictures!) anyway, I will send them to Orem so I can pick them up tomorrow when we go hang with my inlaws for the weekend and scrap away up there! lol! Can't wait!

"Bella" is the WSOTG kit for this months order, next months club gathering....once again...I LOVE CTMH paper!!!! Just cannot help myself!!! LOVE IT. Had so much fun putting these pages together! Yes...I stamped and cut out 50 flowers (but hey, stamp and put in a movie...anything with Matthew McConnahottie in it works for me! lol! and CUT away!) and I used a zillion Garden Green Brads..which I am almost out of.... BUT I love the colors and the way they all went together..... This month Kit costs: $26.50 plus tx/sh! COME PLAY!

LAYOUT 1: "Beautiful Girl"

I found the idea for the first layout on Jeanette Lyntons Blog under "Color Me Monday: A new leaf...June 8th....her's is labeled "thirteen" and I labeled mine..."Beautiful Girl" and did these beautiful pictures of Jentrie (my 7 year old) I took these pictures on Mother's Day and they could not of been MORE perfect for the Bella Paper! I just went with the same idea for page 2 and changed it up a bit! I used the flower stamp sets from last Junes SOTM: With Love and "Tickled Pink" stamp set. The Alphabet is the Chocolate Sets both large and small....LOVE THEM! And the Fun Frames Dimensional Elements....They came together TO CUTE!!!

LAYOUT 2: "When We Love..."
The first layout is also and idea from Jeanette's blog under Color Me Monday: Hollyhock in Bloom, June 15th.... and the second layout idea from Color Me Monday: Heavenly Blue, May 4th...I LOVE idea's for layouts. To see how I can change them up and make them my own....On these layouts I used the Building Block Alphabet and the Classmate Alphabet....some Bella Stickease...more flowers (cut from the 50 before mentioned ;) Best of all my models....My Valerie and Hubby taken on our vacation to AZ...loved the way it all worked out because it wasn't what was in my brain...this turned out even BETTER!!!

LAYOUT 3: "Let Us Grow..."

I got lucky with this one, I needed one more layout to display and this is what happened! lol! I used all stickease and paper....and Dimensional Elements Borders (leftover from the Animal Cookies Kit ~ Yay!) using Olive ink and sponge daubers to color the swirls and some liquid glass to make them POP!!! 3-D foam tabs to lift the flowers from the Stickease set, a bit of Hollyhock ribbon and wallah!!!!! Can't wait to put my pictures on these pages!...AND I have TON's of paper leftover for MORE fun Bella pages!...I LOVE WSOTG.....I have never made so many pages per month in my life as I have with the WSOTG! between 6 & 8 pages (and sometimes 10!) per kit! If you are WSOTG Gals from GUNNISON you SHOULD have at the very least 36 pages w/or without pictures....up to July and if you do the bonus pages you should have aprox. 46 pages! whew WHOO!!! I need a NEW album!

Just a few things I have done the last few months....WOW I am SO behind in my posting! Oh, well better late than never!...This is what I did for my kid's teachers as a "Thank You" for the last day of school....I loved the water bottle idea which I found and copied from this blog scrapbooklifewithamy.blog spot.com

Inside the little pouch I put 2 little lemonade packets and a gift certificate for lunch at Subway...to cute! And way simple and in expensive...

My kids with their little gift on the last day of school!

I made this little mini al bum for my son's teacher who also just happens to be a good friend...I know I found this idea on another blog...but for the life of me cannot find it! SO I am not taking credit for this creation...just went with the idea...so THANK YOU...whoever you are! (found it! stampinallday.blogspot.com But what a great IDEA...the poem is darling! (click on picture to read)Here are a few of the pages I made using the Magic Moments Paper Packet level II...love it! I also use several different stamp sets...mostly the Word Puzzle Months and the Solo's...they all have so much fun stuff on them...lots of cute little random stamps...the album is SEI 6"x6" that I modge podged fun B&T duos from the Magic Moments kit..

CARDs.....here are a few graduation cards I made for a few of the graduating SR's who sent us invitations (my husband teaches High School and Coaches both Football & Basketball) I loved the stamp of the month for May...at first I was a bit unsure until I started to use it! I used the Silhouette Level II paper Packet and added some Hollyhock Pink...then embossed the little dress and added som glitter...toooo cute...and it went to a too cute little gal! Next, "2009" I did with my CTMH Solo's..., the black squares are done with a square block..really...until the ink went dry, then the next card was made with the Game On level II paper packet...using the Solo's for the '09 and the football from the stamp set "Tou chdown".....way fun!

This is a photo cube I made for my brother in-law Kirk. He is a special needs uncle and he LOVES mickey!!! I found this idea from Youtube. (to watch the demo or click on the blog link www.paperjewels.blogspot.com to go straight to her blog)
I bought brand new cd covers (they were like 50 cents a piece for a whole box...so I have lots of photo cubes to make! watch out you just might get one! lol!) really ... the mickey mouse cut outs are from the Cricket (which I don't own, but a cute litte scrap store in Ephraim will cut them out an just charge you for the paper or the cut out if you have your own paper...so they only cost me like $2.00 for all 4 3" cutouts...yay!) I used the Celebrate stamp set and misc. paper from my scrap pile....he loves it...he can put tissues in it...or treasures or more pictures...even treats! fun idea and fast!

I have more projects to post...just not downloaded like a fun mini album I made Rhett for fathers day and more layouts for club...and some cute little recipe books I did for personal progress (Young Womens church program)...stay tuned!

My little girls love to play with paper (wonder why!! :) Anyway, I went through a TON of my older non-CTMH paper (I know...it kinda makes me sound like a paper snob...but I REALLY like the CTMH paper!) and I gave a huge tote to my girls to create with. Jen...my 7 year old was totally excited. She went off to her desk with a stack of paper and a glue stick and a while later out she came with this very sweet creation! I LOVED it....she asked me how to make grass you can feel and so I helped her with the grass...I started it she finished it. The 'ripped' clouds are totally her own deal. Her future hubby maybe in BIG trouble...she asked me a while back how old she had to be to sell CTMH! :) Good Job Jen....(I told her I was gonna post her work...she is way excited!) ....don't you just love the sparkly foam bling across the bottom! Too cute!

Layout 1: I LOVE the layout on the cover of the Summer Catalog...So...I MADE it! (minus the picture :)......I was so excited I just happened to have the Building Block Alphabet and the Hodge Podge Alphabet. I printed the 'moment by moment' on the computer using CTMH's 'Tall Pen' Expressive Font CD Volume 1. And the New Backwoods Stamp set....page 18. YAY!! I created the second page to match using more trees from the Backwoods Stamp set and a few stickers from the Back Country Stickease.... I seriously need to get pictures on these pages.....
Layout 2: I also really liked the way the New Flip Flaps (another new fav!) were used on the 'Peurto Rico' Layout (page 18) So I recreated the page for our family reunion pictures. On the second page I used the Essential Alphabet to stamp 'Times' bleeding the colors and the Hodge Podge Alphabet to stamp 'Good'! With a few stickease...I have more embelishments to use but need to get my pictures on first :)...
I also have a few more layouts to finish up ... so I didn't post them....(makes 4 - 2 page layouts...that is 8 pages....PLUS scraps for more layouts, cards or other projects!!!)

All stickease and buttons (some buttons are the Dimensional Elements Boarders) Layout 2: I had used all my card stock and had tons of B&T duo's left over....this is what I came up with using my scraps. The gals at club put "kids" instead of "boys" at the title....I used my "Solo" Stamp Sets for the whole title :) YAY! I used the "Wild & Crazy" stamp from the "It's A Zoo" stamp set in random order on strips of Desert Sand cardstock.
Layout 3: "It's A Zoo Around Here".....I love the animals and the buttons and the little film strip from the Dimensional Elements Boarders.....also added some sassy strands :) Layout 4: This was easy and fast....well all except the circles...WOW...so cute...kinda a pain...the technique is from the Imagine Book (CTMH) page 61 titled "Fiesta" using a metal rimmed tag and a dry embossing tool pops out the circle...then sanded the top color layer off....turned out cute though...Added the Clouds and Kites from the "Childhood" stamp set, flowers and "wonder" from the stickease, some White Daisy ric rack sponged with Clover Meadow Green ink for the flower stems...wala! Can't wait to get my pictures on these pages!

(PS....Ladies...I really am working on the Recipe sheets....hopefully tomorrow...provided the interruptions!)

Okay! I am so impatient! Jeanette Lynton's blog showed all these cute yummy looking cupcakes! Made out of PAPER for her Birthday last month (Happy Birthday!) and I fell in love...but I am too impatient to wait for the recipe to be published...so...I searched and found another CTMH consultant (Thank You Tresa!) who had a little video on putting these cupcakes together...her cupcake (the one I saw) was made for a gift card....so when you lifted the cherry a gift card slid out the top...I wanted mine to open for treats...whether it be a mini album or some other types of goodies. I LOVED making this cupcake! :) I used some miscellaneous scraps for the bottom (all CTMH product..but no longer available) and Magic Moments B & T duo's for the top... The small flowers are not CTMH because I couldn't find my little tube....these are from KAISERcraft...that I had in my stash! So much fun! I love this PAPER! I had so much fun putting this kit together. The 1st layout was a suggestion from CTMH...I changed it up just a bit by stamp kissing "SPRING" on the second page. 2nd layout is also an idea from the Spring Book....I moved things around and added the Foundry Frames (page 21) and embossed them in Vineyard Berry (YAY!). 3rd Layout...is my own creation... I copied the scallopes from the quote (from the stickease) blew it up on my computer and it WORKED! (copies will be included with instructions) 4th layout...is also my own...it is a bonus layout (you will need extra cardstock from your stash)...with all the B & T duo's leftover..I had to make more pages...and I still have TON's of paper leftover...YAY! I also used a large window charm (page 92) on the quote stamped using the stamp set from the "Tickled Pink" kit (this months SPECIAL!)

This was the page we did this month at club! I got the idea from the Salina retreat last weekend...the red page is the one done at the retreat (non CTMH paper)....the Blue star page is done with CTMH Stardust Paper! So fun and SO fast - took maybe an hour and a half....but we do lots of visiting! :) We used the stays on ink for the cute rocket and colored it in using the blending pen technique shown on CTMH TV! I love the CTMH Daydream paper level II kit! So SWEET!
I HAD so much fun doing these layouts :) I LOVE the CTMH 'Cupcake Sprinkles' stamp!!!! I have used it SO much! I am going to add pictures from Jentrie's 7th birthday ~ it was a PRINCESS party! YAY! And I loved using the 'Create A Shade' paint to make my flowers just extra special (thanks to Brandie!!! my upline for the idea!!!).....I also added some bling by sprinking on some CTMH Prisma Glitter! And I used my CTMH Font CD to make up my little saying...I am going to use pictures of my girls with daddy!

Stardust Paper

The WSOTG kit for this month is the 'Stardust' paper. On the pages for the girls I added blush ink to make them a little more girly! ;)

I just need to finish the journaling on all but Dallin's! I used pictures from the past and present with wish of greatness for the future! It was a great way to use up my photos! And I made 8 pages! 4 - 2 page layouts! I was so excited to make so much out of a level II kit! (plus embellishments!) yay!

Christmas Layouts...

I love the "Even Song" paper!!! At first I wasn't quite sure about it until I started putting it together...it is really pretty! I love it...I have a few more pages to go...I only took 175 Christmas pictures...lol...but I am not going to try and scrap them all. I am have purchased some 12x12 6 pocket page protectors and I am going to use those for most of the pictures and scrap my favorite ones with this awesome paper...I have about 6 pages I want in double layouts. It has been fun going through the pictures and remember the fun and not so much the crazy!! lol! Thanks ladies for the all night crop friday so I could at least get started....lol even though this was all I accomplished... :)

I was so in LOVE with this paper! The colors are Chocolate, Garden Green, Tulip and Blush! So pretty! And so February!!

The "I Love You" layout was inspired by a layout done at a different retreat I went to in Salina a few years ago, I like it because it is fast. I am planning on taking some fun pictures of my family and turning them sepia for these pages...can't wait to finish them. I love this layout!

This layout came from CTMH TV on the CTMH websight. I love CTMH TV. I learn something super fun everytime I watch it. I didn't have the same stamp as them for the
"Forever Always" but I think my "Friendship" stamps worked great! I loved the techniqe they showed on how to put a design in the letters. I will be showing my ladies this when we put them together next month. I need to get an updated picture of Rhett and I to finish this layout. Fun and fast!! The boarder stamp is the new "Key To My Heart" paper crafting special for January only...(47.90...out right for the whole kit, which is beautiful, or free with a $130.00 order)

This next layout was inspired by my girls. They LOVE country star Taylor Swift and her new hit song "Romeo and Juliet". The song says..."it's a love story come on baby just say yes." So I thought I would do a "love story" layout using our family love stories...I am still waiting on one more picture from my mother in-law to finish this. I am going to write down each couples love story to go with their wedding picture. Starting with Rhett and I, my mom and dad, Rhett's mom and dad, and each one of our grandparents. The 1st 3x3 picture is of my only living set of grandparents...they Celebrated 64 years on October 31, yup Halloween! My grandpa will be 90 on his next birthday. He has Alzheimer's :( It is very important for me to write my memories of them now. My kids know him and my grandma. They don't understand that he doesn't know who we are each time we visit.They just go up an give him a hug and he just grins. I am so excited to finish this layout, so my kids will know the love stories of where they came from....I am excited for the ladies at club to put their pages together!!! I have another wedding picture to put at the top of the first page, but I had to get another print, so I am waiting on that to finish up....I don't like to leave to much emptiness...I like to fill them up with pictures. :)

The Braggin Tags.... I love mini albums and I was so excited at how big this "Tag Album" was and it is only $5.00 ($4.95...but seriously) lol! I used ALL my scraps from my pages to put this together plus a few leftover B&T duo's. There are 10 - 7 1/4" x 4 1/4" pages plus covers, I did all mine front and back! Use it all up :) I modge podged the front and back to give it a finished look. I also added the ring clasp instead of the post it comes with. I like it to flip like a book. I have enough B&T's left over to make a few cards or even another lay out using cardstock from my stash! I feel that for $25.80....I was able to accomplish alot! The ladies like the idea of putting together six finished pages...can't wait to see how it goes...next month I am using the "Stardust" paper...can't wait to get started! CTMH Club Christmas Party!!

For someone who always has her camera, I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures of the Ladies! I have a great bunch of Ladies who are my good friends who love scrapbooking! And love CTMH. Instead of club in December we decided that everyone would put in their regular order. Then I would use the Hostess rewards for gifts for the ladies and everyone would put in $5.00 for three big prizes....3rd Place was the Large Friendship stamp set, 2nd Place was the Large and Small Friendship stamp set and 1st place was the Aspen Hostess Collection out of the Fall/Winter Catalog. We met at a favorite local Mexican Restaurant (El Mexicano..yum) and had a fun party. Everyone went away with a gift and 3 ladies won 3 great prizes...3rd place was Dawn, 2nd place was Angie and 1st Place was Sarah!!! Yay Sarah! She was so excited!! I did get a picture of her!! LOL! One of these days I will get a group picture of the gang! Thanks ladies! You make my job with CTMH TONS of fun!!! And so worth it!

Baby Books.....

I made a few baby gifts this month. One for a baby boy using the "Good Times" paper in a 6 x 6 accordion style album.... I though it turned out pretty cute.....

And a 9x9 baby book with a matching 6x6 accordion "Baby's first moments" album for a baby girl using the "Boom-di-ada" paper...... I need to get some pictures of this album. I will post them as soon as I do.

I am so sorry for neglecting this blog!!! I am going to update with pictures very soon! I have been a busy girl working on pages and projects to post. I still need to take pictures of everything. In the mean while here are some reasons why you (as my blog lurkers and potential hostess) should NOT host a party (remember...this is just funny! If you would like to host please leave a comment!) lol! These idea's were apart of a conference call with a CTMH group of consultants...I was not in the call but I was given a copy of this....if you read between the lines is the reasons why you SHOULD have a party!!!

Top 10 Reasons NOT to Have a Home Gathering

1) I despise getting things discounted and free. I've always paid full price for everything, and don't see any reason to change now. $100 in free products? Who needs it?

2) My house is always immaculate, and inviting people over would force me to remove the plastic wrap from the furniture and let people eat food with crumbs. Not gonna happen, are you kidding me right now?

3) I'm so gifted in the crafting department, nobody needs to teach me nothin'. In fact, I should be standing up there teaching YOU my skills - bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills - name that movie! -Napoleon Dynamite-

4) I have a perfectly good idea book from 1991 - why would I need a new one with today's hottest techniques? I like my 80's haircut too - get over it.

5) I like spending $5.00 and 30 minutes at the store buying one card that I don't even like and I know will get thrown out in about 13 seconds. That's time and money well-spent - why must you interfere?

6) I don't like my friends, and don't want to invite them over - they bug me. In fact, I don't really like people in general, to be honest with you.

7) I don't enjoy learning how to be creative or finding a stress-relieving hobby to do with my family. Life is supposed to be stressful, so please don't take that away from me.

8) I want to spend every waking minute with my spouse and family, without any outside interests and activities. That way we can get sick of each other faster. Please leave me in my misery - AGAIN with the interfering!!

9) I have all the card and scrapbook page ideas I want and couldn't possible use even one more. I'm pretty-much caught up on all of my scrapbooks, and I always have handmade cards at my fingertips. I have absolutely no need for you.

10) I couldn't possibly take a night off from watching my favorite TV shows. Besides, I'd rather sit through all the fabulous commercials LIVE than fast forward them later.

Anothers Card....

It has been awhile since I posted and I appoligize, life has been super crazy!!! Anyway, I did have a day where I made lots of cards....some where card kits that I have had FOREVER!!! and finally used and some where cute stamps and paper I wanted to use. This is the only one I have so far taken a picture....it is a beautiful snow flake stamp (New Fallen Snow), stamped with White Daisy Ink and Embossed with clear powder, I put a little bit of liquid glue on the snow flakes and added some prizma glitter. I used Cranberry card stock 6" x 12" folded in half. Decorated with CTMH clear sparkles. I have been doing many projects and I have lots to post. I am hoping to catch up soon. I hope all of you who lurk ( hehe) have a VERY Merry Christmas!!!

(Ladies, I finally got these cards posted! Sorry it took me so long!)

"Snow" Card...I was given the idea when I received my card in the mail made by Karen Pederson, her card is the one with all the ribbon. My card is the one without. I love them both! It is a 6" x 6" card made with the White Daisy Cardstock, Aspen Level II Paper Packet, a little bit of Twilight card stock, Creme Brulee' Stamp pad, and the "All Decked Out" November Stamp of the Month Stamp set. To add a bit of sparkle, I smeared a bit of liquid glass along the face edge and sprinkled with Prisma Glitter (I did this on all my "Snow" Cards. The little "Snow Friend's" saying it from the "Snow Friend's" stamp set.

"Snow Family" Card.
6"x6" Card made with the White Daisy Cardstock and the November Stamp of the Month.."All Decked Out." The Hat, Ear Muff's, and Scarf's are made with the Creme Brulee' Card Stock, base color is Indian Corn Blue, Snow Flakes are second generation stamped for a lighter color and I also used the Twilight Marker for shading. I also used some ribbon from the soon to be retired Outdoor Denim Ribbon (in the Summer Catalog) The Merry Christmas is stamped with the Cranberry ink using the "Say it in Style" Stamp pad (SOTM from last year) I love this card! I am going to see if I can figure out how to fit 3 more snow people on it for my whole family. If I do, I'll post it.

4x6" card, White Daisy Card Stock for the base, Out Door Denim Card Stock w/White Daisy Ink,
Cranberry Card Sock for scarf, a piece of the Evensong card kit B & T Duo for the hat, again, the NSOTM - "All Decked Out" stamp set. This was one of the quicker cards :)

Kisses From Heaven/Christmas Cheer Cards:

This card idea is out of the Fall/Winter Catalog by the Aspen Paper set, this card is 4x12" card folded in 3rds. The ends are scored on a diagonal so when folded it creates a 4x4" square. Made with the Snowflake Kisses Stamp Set, White Daisy Cardstock, White Daisy Brads, Aspen Paper. The snow flakes are second generation for a lighter print and the cut out snowflake is embossed with gold powder. The blank center is meant for a family picture.

Christmas Cheer

Same idea as the Kisses from Heaven only using the EvenSong paper. The ornament is embossed with gold and I used a foam square to pop it up. I tied it with a bow from the Holiday Collection Ribbon set. Christmas Cheer, and other stamping came from the December Word Puzzle Stamp set (I LOVE the Word Puzzles!!!)

Cards using the EvenSong B & T Creative Basics Card kit paper, and the December Word Puzzle. The Merry and Bright Card is 3"x 4" card. I used ribbon from the Holiday Collection Ribbon set and a Garden Green brad. Ink is Cranberry. The 'Peace On Earth" card is a 4"x6" card. I used the December Word Puzzle, Colonial White ribbon, a small square of Colonial White Card Stock, free hand embossing with gold by the ribbon and for the star. Tree's are stamped with New England Ivy Stamp pad, Peace on Earth is stamped with Cranberry Stamp pad. I scalloped the edges with my corner rounder. This was fun to make and fast!!! I used the 'Let's Get Together' paper and recipe card kit and coordinating ribbon. You can use whatever paper you would like. I modge podged everything to the can. I took about 1 hour. I am thinking Christmas gifts. I bought the box at Country Keepsakes in Salina..I believe they were $5.99 or $6.99, I am not sure but around that price.

Halloween Card/Mini album....

This is a fun mini album to give away or keep for yourself! We will be using several of the Halloween stamps and my favorite..the October word puzzle. This cute card is made with 1 sheet of
card stock and 1 piece of 6"x 12" cardstock for the middle album. Most of the decoration is stamped! I used the Enchanted paper. If you want to, you can use fall stamps instead and turn it into a "thankful" album, or a pumpkin patch theme! It is all yours! I think I put about 20 wallet sized pictures in the whole thing! I love mini albums!

My friend Liz is involved with our Wards 'Souper Saturday' - 11/1/2008 (makes you wonder what they are going to serve...haha) anyway, She asked me if I would do this craft...I am so pleased that we were able to put this together. She had found something like it in a craft pamphlet, so I had something to go on. I used the Abundance Paper, Autumn Harvest Leaves and flowers, Winter buttons...Give Thanks Booking Stamp Set, Goodness In Life Stamp Set. I think it turned out super cute!!! My Creations Memory Keeper and Album

I wondered forever about this BOX!! I wasn't sure I could tackle this. It is the My Creations Memory Keeper Box...covered with the Notebook Paper kit. I love this paper. Sometimes you never know how much you are going to like something until you actually use it...this was one of those moments. I had ordered the Memory Keeper Box kit off of Brandies Website after watching the CTMH TV mini movie about them. So...I ordered it. This is what I came up with. I used the Soul Mates Stamp set (came with kit), Playful Flourishes Stamp set, Chocolate Alphabet Small Stamp set, Hollyhock Card stock, Hollyhock and Black ink, Big Blooms flowers, gold and black embossing...(my newest fave!) I also started putting together a 6x6 My Creations Memory Showcase album. I am going to make a box for each one of my kids and put mementos from their childhood in them...example.. Jentrie (pictured) is now 7 (on tuesday). Less than 12 hours after her birth she was life flighted by ambulance to UVRMC in Provo where she lived for 10 days in NBICU. The first 7 days she was on a breathing monitor, where a machine breathed for her until her lungs were strong enough to breath on their own. I have saved many items from that time...cards, notes I had written, bows the nurses put in her hair...many memories...those will go in her box along with items I have saved up to now and I will continue to put things in this box until she becomes a mom, then I will give her, her box...it is a work in progress. I am so tickled to do one for each child! Have so much stuff...I have a habit of saving everything! I am so bad that I almost (almost) saved the circumcision ring for my boys...Rhett made me throw them away! Lol! These are fun to make, and OH the memory's that pop in to mind while making them!
